That’s why we took the time to do all the dirty work for you, researching and comparing available software to help you make the best choice for the success of your business.
3 Points to Consider to Choose the Best Chiropractic EHR Software
In order to help you in your search for the best chiropractic EHR software, we compared the top 10 chiropractic software for patient management.
- Cost: What is the true cost (i.e. Setup fees, IT fees, etc.) of the EHR software?
- Data Storage: Is the EHR software Cloud-based or Server-based?
- Connections: Does the EHR software integrate with Review Wave?
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite question:
“How Much Will It Cost Me?”
When it comes to choosing chiropractic software, you should aim to obtain the true cost of purchasing that software. We recommend asking these 6 questions before purchasing any software for the success of your business, especially chiropractic patient management software:
- Do I have to pay a monthly fee?
- Is there an annual contract?
- Is there a large lump payment up front?
- Do I have to pay for additional users?
- Do I have to pay for technical support?
- Are there any hidden costs (e.g. dedicated hardware/server)?
We’ve reviewed the top chiropractic software to answer all these questions for you:
Top 10 Chiropractic EHR Software Available in 2020
In today’s competitive market, selecting intuitive technology that’s not only capable, but dependable is key to making a good investment for your business. For this reason, we used a simple thumb-rating system for the top 10 EHRs below (WORST 👎👎> 👎> 👌> 👍> 👍👍 BEST) to make it easy for you to identify whether or not the EHR could be a good investment for your practice.
1. Platinum $149.99/MO + No Setup Fees 👍👍

Platinum considers itself “the #1 EHR for chiropractors” and emphasizes its “easy note-taking system.” Starting at $149.99/month for service and support, you could choose to own Platinum for $249.99/month for 84 months (and then $119.99/month for support thereafter). Otherwise, you could purchase it outright for $7900 + $119.99/month for support. Either way, you typically don’t have to worry about setup fees, just ask and they’ll waive them for you upon sign-up.
Much like ChiroTouch, Platinum is mainly server-based, which has its hidden fees (e.g. dedicated server, firewall protection), but Platinum does provide a cloud-based option for customers interested in that flexibility. Also, Platinum integrates with Review Wave seamlessly, and their customers rave about the system being “easy-to-use” with “accurate and friendly” customer support to boot. For all these reasons, we give Platinum 2 giant thumbs-up: 👍👍
2. Genesis $99/MO + Licensing Fees 👍👍

Genesis has been the leader in cloud-based chiropractic software since 2004. Their website boasts that their EHR software is an “all-in-one practice management software.” With various pricing options, does come licensing fees, but the monthly cost starts as low as $99/month and the cloud-based option helps eliminate hidden fees (e.g. dedicated server, firewall protection, database configuration/maintenance).
If you’re looking for a cloud-based EHR software “owned and operated by a chiropractor, for chiropractors,” then Genesis is a good pick. Plus, Genesis FULLY integrates with Review Wave as a MAJOR bonus. Their customers have positive things to say as well. The main con expressed by reviewers is “too many features.” All in all, we give Genesis 2 phat thumbs-up: 👍👍
3. DrChrono $250/MO/Provider + No Setup Fees + 12-MO Commitment 👍👍

DrChrono, serves small single provider practices and large medical group practices with multiple specialty customizations. Their tagline is “Optimize Practice Productivity & Increase Revenue with EHR that Fits Your Practice.” Starting at $250/month/provider, if you have 3+ providers, you can get a better group rate. Just ask! Regardless of the plan you choose, DrChrono has ZERO setup fees and an annual contract billed monthly. There are some additional fees to note for exceeding your plan limits for texting, faxing or calling, as well as fees for using such features as Paper Claims/Statements.
We love that DrChrono’s phone message states, “if you want to create a better patient experience by leveraging technology, you’re in the right place.” DrChrono strengthened their stance on the power of technology for the patient experience by FULLY integrating with Review Wave. All that equals 2 thumbs-up: 👍👍
4. ECLIPSE® $1,995 and Up 👍

ECLIPSE®, a registered trademark of MPN Software Systems, is a server-based software for chiropractors, currently serving over 37,000 users. From single practitioners to multidisciplinary and multi-location practitioners, ECLIPSE® is a chiropractic solution that can scale with you. The price scales based on your individual needs as well. Pricing starts at $1,995 and goes up based on billing needs, number of doctors, number of users, and more, tailoring it to your clinic. Based on reviews, people seem to love their billing features more than their Electronic Health Records and rave about their customer service as “exceptional” and “courteous.”
We give ECLIPSE® a solid thumbs-up 👍
5. EZBIS $1,995.00 + $600 Support Fee/YR + No Setup Fees 👍

EZBIS states on their website, “EZBIS is the most experienced developer of chiropractic software.” A claim backed up by their full-time development team and nearly 40 years experience. More than most realize, it’s important to choose technology with the capacity to react quickly to changes. Whether those changes are in the healthcare industry (mandates or compliance requirements), the technology industry (advancements or security updates), or consumer choice behavior (utility maximization). Picking an EHR (or any software) with agile development means your chiropractic software can offer your office convenience and efficiency.
When it comes to their EHR, EZBIS offers both a modular server-based system with a one-time fee or a cloud-based option with a monthly fee. Their EHR costs $1,995 and comes with 90 days of free support. Thereafter, you have the option to add support for $600 per year. Even though EZBIS integrates with Review Wave, they could offer their users more capabilities. We give this EHR software a solid thumbs-up: 👍
6. Herfert $2499/One-Time + Potential Setup Fees 👍

Herfert Chiropractic Software claims to “do it all” from patient management to electronic billing. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to purchase their server-based option for a one-time purchase price or pay a low monthly fee for their cloud-based option (warning: there may also be a setup fee for either option). The perk of using Herfert Cloud is unlimited technical support, automatic updates, and nightly back-ups.
Herfert has an awesome 4.9 out of 5 stars on Capterra. Their top review states, “very seldom any issues with Herfert.” Moreover, users seem to “love the help section system documentation,” or free online training, as it provides “amazing help at your fingertips any time you need.” In consideration of the above, and the fact that Herfert FULLY integrates with Review Wave, we give this EHR a phat thumbs up: 👍
7. AdvancedMD $729/MO/Provider or $2.18/Encounter 👍

AdvancedMD is a cloud-based, all-in-one, medical office platform designed to easily manage your entire practice, all locations, and patient experience. Their EHR software is bundled with their practice management tools for scheduling and medical billing. You can choose to pay $729/Month/Provider if you have a high patient volume or pay $2.18/Encounter if you have a low patient volume.
Some other perks of using AdvancedMD include a mobile EHR iOS app, customizable templates, and a personalized physician dashboard for tracking tasks, appointments and staff communications. Although AdvancedMD FULLY integrates with Review Wave and has some cool tools & capabilities, this EHR is not designed specifically for chiropractors. For this reason, we give this EHR one thumbs-up: 👍
8. Atlas $99/MO and Up 👌

Atlas is the chiropractic EHR solution for paperless offices and provides billing, scheduling, care tracking, patient education, clinic reporting, soap notes and more. Holding the title, “A World Class Paperless Office Solution,” carries hidden costs for dedicated hardware like touchscreens. The good news is that Atlas starts at $99/month and claims to have “the best support in [the] chiropractic software industry.” In addition, Atlas offers a purchase option for those who prefer ownership.
Keep in mind, Atlas is a hybrid system: server-based with web-based features. It gives you full control of your data while being able to use a number of online apps. Atlas is another example of an EHR that integrates with Review Wave, but could offer its users even more capabilities. In the end, Atlas is OK in our books: 👌
9. ChiroTouch $259/MO + Setup Fee + 12-MO Commitment 👌

ChiroTouch has been one of the most renowned EHR and practice management systems out there for small to midsize chiropractic businesses for the last decade. The main reason for this is because ChiroTouch combines electronic health records, patient scheduling, billing and more in a single, integrated platform. Eventhough ChiroTouch is server-based, they recently released a cloud-based version for customers wanting more freedom. Typically, this EHR will cost you $259/month plus a one-time setup fee and a minimum 12-month commitment to start. Keep in mind, you’ll have to purchase dedicated hardware and new features often come with a price tag, too.
The fact that ChiroTouch is an integrated EHR should catch your attention since that helps you create the most complete solution for your practice by customizing your own product suite. ChiroTouch integrates with Review Wave to help you increase reviews, new patients, and your Patient Visit Average (PVA). However, ChiroTouch could definitely evolve to do more for its users, such as: customizable reports, better insurance capabilities, and offer its users a FULL integration with Review Wave. Until then, ChiroTouch has earned a big ol’ A-OK: 👌
10. ChiroFusion $99/MO + $695 Setup Fees 👎👎

ChiroFusion considers itself “the #1 cloud-based chiropractic software.” Starting at just $99/month, you could opt for their DC Platinum package for $279/month and 24/7 support. Either way, you’re looking at around $695 in setup fees.
Eventhough, ChiroFusion is a fully cloud-based chiropractic software that states it is 100% integrated, it doesn’t integrate with Review Wave or other world-class technologies. Instead, ChiroFusion is attempting to offer a little bit of everything, which ultimately requires users to make compromises instead of being able to utilize the best technology available for their success; something Atlas and ChiroTouch do better. For these reasons, we can’t help but give this chiropractic EHR 2 thumbs-down: 👎👎
Choose Your Next Chiropractic EHR Software Carefully!
Hopefully, you now feel knowledgeable enough to choose your next chiropractic EHR software. It would be wise to choose carefully, because your practice’s future depends on it. Ensure you’re asking the right questions and seeking high-quality chiropractic technology that suits your business needs. If the EHR solution you’re considering doesn’t help you run your business more efficiently and streamline tasks, then it’s not the best choice for the success of your business.
